Why was I charged after my free trial?
If you're seeing a charge from Fabulous after your free trial ended, here's what's happening and what you can do about it.
How free trials work
Fabulous free trials require a valid payment method to activate. When your trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to a paid plan unless you cancel before the trial period is up.
- The trial end date is shown when you sign up and in your subscription confirmation email.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- You keep full access to Premium until the end of the period you paid for, even after cancelling.
To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before your trial ends. Cancelling on the same day the trial ends may not stop the charge.I didn't mean to subscribe. Can I get a refund?
Refund eligibility depends on where you subscribed (App Store, Google Play, or directly with Fabulous). For step-by-step instructions, see our How to request a refund guide.
Not sure where you subscribed? Check our gateway article to identify your subscription source first.I want to cancel so I'm not charged again
To avoid future charges, cancel your subscription before the next renewal date. The cancellation steps differ depending on where you subscribed — see our Where did I subscribe? guide to identify your subscription source and find the right cancellation steps.
I only see a $1 charge, not the full subscription price
That $1 is a temporary card verification hold, not a real charge. Fabulous places this hold when you add a payment method to start a free trial to confirm your card is active.
- It is not a subscription fee.
- Your bank will release it automatically, usually within 5 to 7 business days.
- If you subscribed to more than one Fabulous app at the same time, you may see a separate $1 hold for each one. All will be released automatically.
No action is needed on your end. The hold will disappear from your statement on its own.Was this article helpful?
